Meditation and Mindfulness

Declutter your mind and bring peace, focus, balance and clarity to your life. In this day and age, it is very difficult to clear your mind and only focus on one thing at a time. We have all learnt over the past 4 decades to multitask with the constant interruption of mobile phones and the development of social media more recently, of course this generation does not know any different. General communication has changed too, with letter writing become obsolete and emails pinging in our inbox ad nauseum. No wonder so many people, over all ages, are struggling to focus and are suffering with various forms of anxiety.

So how may meditation and mindfulness practice help you? As the words suggest, during practice you are fully engaged to what you are doing 

It suggests that the mind is fully attending to what’s happening, to what you’re doing, to the space you’re moving through. That might seem trivial, except for the annoying fact that we so often veer from the matter at hand. Our mind takes flight, we lose touch with our body, and pretty soon we’re engrossed in obsessive thoughts about something that just happened or fretting about the future. And that makes us anxious.

Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us.
