Exercise & Rehabilitation
functional movement to restore and maintain mobility throughout life
Mobility and Early Steps the physical development of your baby's body, to define and refine their gross and fine motor skills, is key to the progression of proprioception - the awareness of the body's own position in space. This aids with walking correctly, development of organisation skills and structural support.
Managing Hypermobility. Hypermobility symptoms include: pain and stiffness, clicking joints, dislocation, poor posture and proprioceptive awareness - making the person prone to clumsiness. The pain experienced, is caused by muscle strain because they are having to work harder, without the adequate support of the ligaments.
Maintaining Functional Movement. Sedentary jobs and repetitive strain can cause physical changes to the body, including obesity and stiffness. Correcting harmful postural habits and avoiding repetitive strain with a daily movement routine, will help prevent age-related degeneration and physical and mental disease.
Maintaining Functional Movement - Coping with Pain. There is no physical need for age-related damage to the body. However, it does contribute to the onset of osteoarthritis, through inflammation and breakdown of cartilage; caused by injury, obesity, joint instability, poor nutrition, medications and no movement.
Surgical and Sports Injury Rehabilitation. Injury and surgery cause the body to adapt to the way it moves, as a means of compensating for pain, stiffness and restriction caused by scar tissue. The inflammation and change to the load bearing, will result in premature wear and tear.
Learn How to Walk Properly! A stable gait, is one that does not lead to falls and correlates to the position of the body over the feet. Most of us are able to walk without problems, if correct foot placement is used. The normal physical function of the body is reliant on its tensegrity.
